December 7, 2012
A&DWORKS Chicago, an initiative of the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan, is proud to present its second exhibition, Paper Legends, at North Branch Projects in Chicago from December 7th to January 7, 2013. An opening reception will be held on December 7th from 6 - 9 pm.
Paper Legends is an extraordinary collection of works on paper and artist books that share in common an interest in maps and diagrams. The works are extraordinary not only because of surprising forms they take but also because of their wide ranging subject matter, including food, travel, politics, tradition and sound.
Curated by Tori Terizakis (BFA 2007), the exhibition features work by Christina De Los Santos, Abby Bennett, Michael Savona, Fereshteh Toosi and Neil Brideau in partnership with Regional Relationship, Ashley Elander, Toby Millman and Zach Abubeker.
North Branch Projects is an independently run project space located in Albany Park, Chicago, IL, that serves as a community bookbinding facility. The space provides an outlet for exploring the creative process in a neighborhood where few resources for the arts exist.
A&DWORKS Chicago is part of a national initiative by the Stamps School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan to support and expand its network of alums and friends around the country. These new collaboratives are designed to generate creative enterprises from within local communities - pop-up performances, residencies, workshops, screenings, exhibits and more.
