States, step etching, layers, proof (after proof, after proof). Printmakers are used to coaxing their images through many forms from the beginning of a project to the work’s final form. Recently, a growing number of print artists have intuitively expanded the printmaking process and product to include time-based media, animation, video, and film.
This online exhibition will survey artworks that use print media or techniques in concert with animation, video, and film. We welcome all formats that can be linked, embedded, or uploaded to the submission site: GIFs, stills of full videos, embedded YouTube and Vimeo videos, etc.
The final selection of pieces will be curated by Amanda Lee, Endi Poskovic, and Erik Waterkotte, and will be presented at Impact 8 an international conference, as part of the Crossing Into The Cinematic panel discussion in Dundee, Scotland, in August and September 2013.
