Underground Printing Launches Campus Designers Program

Custom printed apparel maker encourages student creativity while giving back within the campus community
Along with their trademark custom printed and retail apparel, Underground Printing is announcing the launch
of an innovative new program known as the Campus Designers program (http://www.ugpcampusdesigners.com). The
UGP Campus Designers program encourages students to express their creativity through unique apparel designs
that speak to the zeitgeist on campus. Students can submit a finished design, or even just a clever phrase or idea.
Winners of this monthly contest can choose between six free shirts with their design or a $100 gift certificate.

MSA Logo Contest

The Michigan Student Assembly (MSA) is the central student government on campus. We need a new logo and we want YOU to help with the design. The MSA logo appears on everything that MSA is involved in, from our committees and commissions to events held across campus. Additionally, MSA is the main funding body for student organizations…and this logo accompanies everything we fund, which is quite a lot! This is your chance to help re-brand MSA :)

LOGO Guidelines:
-The logo must contain the words “Michigan Student Assembly”
-We want the logo to embody the spirit of a University of Michigan student …whatever that may entail.
-Be creative!
-Different from the current logo

Prize:
-A $100 gift card
-Having the logo YOU create all over anything MSA is involved in (i.e. everywhere!)

Deadline:

12 Second Mountain Dew Spot

Think you have what it takes to create a spot for one of the next Mountain Dew flavors? Want a chance to show your stuff online to DEW fans everywhere? Chug a bottle of DEW and dive in…it’s your chance to pitch the same consumers who may soon be watching your work on national TV.

The Assignment
Create a 12-second spot for Mountain Dew.  Keep in mind that your 12-seconds should be focused on Mountain Dew – the neon citrus we all know and love.  Don’t worry about creating a commercial yet for the three new DEW products.  Hopefully, you’ll get a chance to do that next.

Call for Fashion Using Plastics

Gen Art introduces a design competition based on the versatility and usability of plastic based fibers in fashion, presented by Plastics Make it PossibleSM.

Sound like a stretch? Chances are, you’re already using these materials in your designs. So many of the things we wear, design and covet every day are made from Plastics; Jersey, Chiffon and Dupioni, not to mention Lycra, Suede velvet, Mesh and dozens more.

HOW TO ENTER:
Submit two photos of two full womenswear looks primarily made from one or more of these plastic-based fabrics between Thursday, October 29th – December 1st. See the full list of fibers here.

THE PRIZE:
One winner will receive a $10,000 stipend to create their own 10 piece Fall 2010 collection using the list of approved fabrics to be showcased at Gen Art’s New York Fashion Week show in February.

Ravinia Festival Annual Poster Design Competition 2010

For over 30 years, the Women’s Board of Ravinia Festival has sponsored an annual competition to select the design that will become the unique poster used to promote the festival’s season. The annual poster and its principal design image become a distinctive signature of the Ravinia Festival season. It should therefore convey the rich experience of enjoying outstanding musical performances in this lush and historic outdoor park.

High school and college participants may submit only one entry. Entries must be sent to the Ravinia Festival at 418 Sheridan Road, Highland Park, IL 60035, no later than Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Judging is on the basis of graphics and design quality and will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2009.

(1)A complimentary 8” Kidrobot Munny will be given to you to design and paint on.
(2)Your custom 8” Munny will make the rounds in galleries across San Francisco, LA, and San Diego.
(3)The top 3 designers will be given the opportunity to design a 18” Mega Munny and paid $200 commission. The Mega Munnys will also make rounds on the show circuit but will also appear at Mega-only shows.
(4)Pix of your 8”custom will also appear on the submission website along with your contact information and links to your website (blog, etsy, deviantart, ect)
(5)At the end of the custom show season, Les gets to keep your custom for his own personal collection. Your custom will NOT be sold for profit ☺
