Women’s Studio Workshop Internships

Summer Internship
The Summer Internship is a special opportunity for emerging artists with a flair for food and farming and studio skills. This 3 month internship runs throughout the duration of our Summer Arts Institute (SAI) Workshops. The Summer Intern contributes to the culture of community at WSW, by bringing SAI participants together over a shared mid-day meal, and also helps with many other aspects of our SAI programming and working with our ArtFarm project.

Arts Administration Internship
This 6-month internship is for people considering a career in arts administration. You will work alongside WSW’s administrative staff attending to the myriad of details that keep an arts organization functioning smoothly.

Studio Internships
WSW hosts 2-3 studio interns who work with WSW staff on projects including papermaking, book arts, and arts administration. In addition to assisting with the on-going operations of the facility, interns assist WSW’s Artists-in-Residence with their projects, work with artist-educators in WSW’s Art-in-Education program, and participate in WSW’s Summer Arts Institute classes as studio assistants.

Ceramics Internship

This internship is designed specifically for young artists interested in functional ceramics.
The Ceramics Intern works closely with WSW’s Clay Program Coordinator preparing for our Annual Chili Bowl Fundraiser. During this mid-winter event, WSW warms up our local community by presenting over 800 hand made vessels for sale. The bowls and tumblers are filled with chili, cornbread, and lemonade donated by area restaurants. The revenue from this community event goes into the ceramics program to buy and maintain equipment and subsidize fellowships.
