Ross School of Business Professor, Erik Gordon, needs 4 slides that can be inserted in a PowerPoint and Keynote presentation (JPEG and TIFF versions). The style of the slides should be consistent with this image - that is, flat, simple, looking like a cutout-and-paste project a talented third grader might do. The slides are as follows:
(a) a castle in the distant background, upper right.
(b) same, with a dragon breathing red fire in the center, nearer.
(c) same, with a knight (on foot) approaching the dragon with his sword drawn for a fight.
(d) same background, with the knight riding the dragon toward the castle, no sword drawn.
The story line involves knowing when to attack and when to ally.

Fee is $10 / hour so please include in your email the number of hours expected to complete the project, assuming there will be small revisions to at least one or two slides.

Rosstache is an annual fundraiser organized by students at the Ross School of Business, in which participants grow mustaches for 4-6 weeks to raise money for a needy charity. For its fifth year in operation, Rosstache would like to establish a new logo. The previous logo, a copy-and-paste job of a black-and-white internet cartoon mustache, has been simple and effective, but we aspire to a logo of our own to pair with our slogan “Sacrificing Vanity for Charity since 2006”, and our phony club “The Burt Reynold’s Club”. The personality of the fundraiser event is driven by the various cultural connotations of mustaches: trashy, wanna-be classy, sophisticated, and ultimately pretty silly. The ideal logo will be simple, prominently incorporate or be based around the image of a mustache, and limited to 1-2 colors to lower the costs of printing on t-shirts. Submissions would be greatly appreciated and support our efforts to raise money for programs for the Penrickton Center for the Blind.

FUTURE SEATING is open to all students currently enrolled in a recognized academic program. Submittals may take the form of either finished product or speculative proposal, though all accepted work must be complete and delivered to Cranbrook forum gallery by March 24th. All accepted work is subject to final review for completeness, original intent,
and construction quality and please note that show administration reserves the right to reject work for non compliance in those regards. Restrictions on function, size, and
material are relaxed though jurors expect thorough description of increasingly experimental work and preference will be given to work that incorporates a position on the future of seating. Accepted work will require a $15 fee for the public reception and award[s]. Award number and size announced March 11th.
1: Please adequately describe motives, materials, and construction methods. Please note extraordinary characteristics that may need special attention as well; extreme weight for example.
2: Please THOROUGHLY illustrate either your work, or your full proposal intent. We would kindly ask that you err on the side of clarification as we try to fully understand your objective. Unclear or underrepresented proposals will not be accepted.

Design Intern
As a design intern you will be given valuable real-world experience with interactive design and assisting the creative team. Detail and organization are a must topped with the ability to work with a team or independently when needed. You will be considered an integral part of the creative team and your ideas and input on projects will be valued. You will be assisting with website designs, banner ad designs, and additional production design tasks to help out other designers. We will need a commitment of at least 20 hours per week from you, divided however you choose.
Requirements
•Bachelors degree in visual arts preferred or in school majoring in visual arts
•Excellent visual and verbal communication and able to work across teams or on an independent basis
•Must be familiar with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat. Flash, HTML, and CSS are pluses.
•Experience with After Effects is a plus. Experience with Maya makes you a rock star.

Development Intern
As a development intern, you will be working with an advanced team of Flash developers. You will be assisting with QA, debugging code, and writing code when necessary. You’ll be given the unique opportunity to learn industry standards in interactive development with Flash. Banners and micro-sites are some of the projects you will be working on. Occasionally, you may be asked to make a coffee run. You will also be given a cool nickname.
Requirements
•Experience with Flash Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0
•Knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator
•Animation skills in Flash and After Effects
•Encyclopedia of movie trivia helps

Illustrations for a fantasy novel (if you think Chronicles of Narnia, or Lord of the Rings, you’ve got it!). 41 page-sized illustrations are needed, realistic (within the bounds of a fantasy novel) as possible. The subjects would be mostly humanoid organisms, with the occasional equine-esque character, lion, and dragon. Backgrounds (architecture, forests), and facility with clothing drapes and patterns are essential.

Do you like textiles and fibers? Do you like reading? Would you like to earn a little money while working with teens creating art? Then this may be the perfect opportunity for you!
Dexter District Library is looking for someone to design and run a one-day, two or three hour workshop sometime between June 19th and August 5th, 2010 for students in grades 6-12 as part of the Teen Summer Reading Program. This workshop should involve re-purposing clothing in some way. Students will be asked to bring in an article of clothing for re-purposing. You would need to provide the materials, instruction and tools for the workshop. Anything used for the art and taken home by the students or kept by the library would be reimbursable, not to exceed $50 in material costs.
Submit a written description of your ideas for the workshop, digital images, if applicable, and materials/supplies needed with their estimated costs. Provide the times/dates you would be available for running the workshop. Also, the maximum number of students that you would be comfortable working with at one time and the amount of time that you think the workshop will take to complete start to finish. In addition, describe any teaching experience or experience you have working with students ages 10-18. Include your name, email and mailing address.

Eligibility: Students with a strong background in design who are enrolled in their junior or senior year at US colleges and universities. The national Geographic Society is committed to maintaining a diverse workforce. Members of minority groups and candidates with varied cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. One intern will be selected.
Purpose of Program: To furnish students with professional experience in magazine design and production. Interns will learn by doing as well as by observing. They will also gain an overview of National Geographic magazine and how the different departments (text, photography, design, graphics, and production) work together.

Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens is seeking artists to participate in a temporary sculpture and wind chime exhibition. The exhibit offers participating artists a unique opportunity to present original sculptural work amongst the trees and around the pond in one of the area’s most beautiful and natural garden settings. With its mature tree canopy soaring nearly 100 feet in height, large scale work is encouraged and potential for suspended work is endless.
We are looking for sculptures that tie into our theme of WIND THROUGH THE TREES. Specifically, we are interested in sculptures that are designed to be suspended from the trees. However, any sculpture that incorporates either sound or movement, or both, will be considered, including ground sculptures. WIND THROUGH THE TREES will be an auditory and kinetic exhibition.

The Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum invites artists working in sculpture, that are finished with training or formal studies and residing within 200 miles of Saginaw to enter its 2010 Regional Biennial Juried Sculpture Exhibition. Merit awards include 1st place at $2,500, 2nd place at $1,250, 3rd place at $850, and 4th place at $400. The exhibition dates are July 3 to September 18, 2010.
