Photographer needed to take candid photos of individuals/groups at evening winter party to be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010 in Brighton, MI. Must have own equipment (including appropriate backdrops) and be willing to release exclusive rights of all images to the client.

The Michigan Student Assembly (MSA) is the central student government on campus. We need a new logo and we want YOU to help with the design. The MSA logo appears on everything that MSA is involved in, from our committees and commissions to events held across campus. Additionally, MSA is the main funding body for student organizations…and this logo accompanies everything we fund, which is quite a lot! This is your chance to help re-brand MSA :)

Concordia University Ann Arbor seeks submission of visual arts that incorporate the various meanings and potential approaches to the idea of creative adaptation or modification of earlier forms, methods, or works. The artwork submitted should be rooted in a “useable past” while addressing a new condition, a new technology, or a new era either formally or thematically. Prints, drawings, paintings, photographs, digital images, sculpture, etc. are eligible. Recipients of awards will be determined by the juror, Rebecca Hart, associate curator and acting Head of Contemporary Art for the Detroit Institute of Arts, and announced at the opening reception. The artist chosen as “Best of Show” will receive a solo exhibit in the Kreft Gallery at Concordia University Ann Arbor in the 2010-2011 season. Only original artwork produced within the past five
years will be accepted-reproductions are not permitted. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to apply.

Position Summary: The position of Sculpture Department Intern assists with the responsibilities for sculpture conservation and maintenance projects as assigned by the Assistant Curator of Collections/Conservator and the Assistant Conservator. Primary duties include the cleaning and maintenance of art works in the permanent collection and on temporary display. Also, assistance with temporary exhibitions will be required.
This position begins February 1 through May 3 with the possibility, based on job performance, of being extended though summer.
This position is 20 hours per week @ $10.00 per hour and is open to art majors from colleges and universities based in the Grand Rapids metropolitan area. Preference will be given to those with studio experience or those considering a museum career.
Essential Functions:
*assist in maintaining the well being of objects in the permanent collection through routine inspection and maintenance
*conduct seasonal and annual maintenance projects as assigned
*assist with the placement and installation of the permanent collection as assigned
*assist with delivery and temporary storage of the permanent collection objects and objects under acquisition consideration as assigned
*assist with installation projects related to temporary exhibitions as assigned
*assist with upkeep and maintenance projects related to temporary exhibitions as assigned
Other Functions:
*assist with enforcement of Meijer Garden rules of etiquette while on duty
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Junior or Senior standing in art
Specific Skills: Proven ability to work with three-dimensional objects. Able to successfully operate equipment and utilize technology requisite to museum installation and object maintenance/conservation.

Seventeen Magazine is currently hiring accessory and fashion interns for the Winter and Spring/Summer Semesters. We are looking for motivated interns who want to experience the editorial side of the fashion industry. The accessories and fashion interns are responsible for the running of the fashion closet and will get to see how a magazine is put together every month. Activities include going to designer showrooms on market appointments with editors, picking up and dropping off samples, checking clothing in and out of the closet, writing our style blogs, casting our “real girl” models, assisting on photo shoots and working with markets lists.
The position is full time and lasts a semester. It is unpaid and only students who can receive credit are eligible.
