The Intersections program displays artwork by A&D faculty and students in the Art & Architecture Building's corridor display cases. Please see the Intersections Map (PDF) for a detailed diagram of these cases.
To install your work within the public corridors, please fill out and submit the Intersections Installation Proposal Form (PDF). All installations must comply with public building and fire codes; please see Intersections Installation Code (PDF) for more details.

Along the University of Michigan Art and Architecture building West hallway corridor is an area that has come to be known as “the Wall.” The School of Art and Design seeks project/work proposals from the creative communities from both within A & D as well as outside the school to energize this highly travelled and visible exhibition area with a rotating body of creative process. The wall is concrete, 12 feet high and 183 feet long fitted with 500 sunken threaded anchors arranged in a grid.
Proposed work should involve the use of the entire wall and its anchors. This area has been reserved as a prime location for the application of unique creative exploration.
The wall is 12’ x 183’ and contains rows of 500 gridded anchor holes. 6 holes aligned vertically (areas under walkways house 4 holes.)
To submit a proposal or, to ask a question, please contact Director of Intersections Exhibitions Stephen William Schudlich at swschud@umich.edu.
