International Experience Requirements
International travel and study is a vital component of the School of Art & Design curriculum. Today’s artists and designers are best prepared to enter the globalized economy and are more competitive for graduate study or employment having completed a significant international experience. Cross-cultural engagement fosters global perspective, new life experiences, creative insights, and global connections. International study engenders self-confidence, independence, resourcefulness, flexibility, innovation, problem solving, empathy, and stimulated academic discipline. This experience will provide vital knowledge to support subsequent research, global citizenship, and future international engagements - including applications for Fulbright Fellowships, the Peace Corps and similar programs.
