Heidi Kumao Exhibits
Heidi Kumao’s recent work will be included in the group exhibition, “Cultural Transcendence” at the Wing Luke Asian Museum in Seattle, WA from Dec. 17, 2009 -June 2010. The show features new media work by Eunsu Kang, Brent Watanabe, Horatio Law, Robert Hodgin and Heidi Kumao. http://www.wingluke.org
Kumao will be exhibiting a new video sculpture titled “Transplant.” “Transplant” explores the lives of Japanese nationals and citizens who were interned in War Relocation Centers during WWII and how they cultivated gardens as a creative outlet to survive their confinement.
